A ribbon cutting was held today to open Navitat's Ijams Canopy Experience - a new tree-based adventure park at Ijams Nature Center just minutes from downtown Knoxville.
The course is operated by Navitat Canopy Adventures, a nationally acclaimed zipline canopy tour operator based in Asheville, N.C.
The Ijams Canopy Experience is comprised of more than 60 unique challenge elements, including seven ziplines, spread across six thematic courses. The park is located on three acres in a secluded section of mature forest that is part of the 300-acre Ijams Nature Center property located in the heart of Knoxville’s thousand-acre Urban Wilderness on the banks of the Tennessee River.

Participant requirements: Must be least 5 years old, able to comfortably reach overhead to a height of five feet when standing flat-footed, and weigh between 30 and 265 pounds. All participants under 18 must have a parent/legal guardian sign a waiver prior to the adventure. Participants ages 5 to 11 must be accompanied by an adult.
Length of tour experience: Approximately 2.5 hours, including gear up, orientation, and 2 hours of adventure
Cost: $39-$49 per person, depending on age
