For the first time, online registration is available for the City’s winter leagues.
“We’re very excited to offer this service, which will provide easier access and convenience for anyone who wishes to participate in our programs,” said Joe Walsh, Director of Knoxville Parks and Recreation.
Currently, adult basketball and volleyball league registration is available on the City’s website; visit
www.knoxvilletn.gov/recreation.
Team registration for adult basketball leagues is $350; for volleyball teams, $180. Registration for both sports ends Nov. 19, 2015.
For those who don’t have a team but are interested in playing, e-mail
[email protected] to be added to a free agent list.
RecPro Software was selected through a public bidding process conducted by a team of City officials from the City’s Parks and Recreation, Information Systems and Finance departments.
“Online signup for parks and recreation facilities, leagues and classes reinforces the City’s goal to make City services and information more accessible to the public,” said Janet Wright, Director of Information Systems.
As the software is phased in over the next few months, residents will be able to use the City’s online pay services to register for leagues, recreation center programs and Knoxville Arts and Fine Crafts Center classes, as well as to reserve shelters, athletic fields and special events in parks.
