On November 14, 2016, the Governor issued a Proclamation regarding the dry weather and drought conditions proclaiming that “The starting of an open air and unconfined fire on or near woodlands where dangerous fire hazards exist is forbidden.”
The burn ban, which included Knox County and the City of Knoxville has now been lifted.
The City of Knoxville and Knoxville Fire Department are now operating under our normal open burn policy.
Blount and Sevier counties are still under the burn ban.
