Knoxville Utilities Board, along with seven other local utility companies, will sponsor the 2016 Tennessee Emergency Response and Pipeline Safety Awareness Seminar.
As a member of Partners In Protecting Everyone (P.I.P.E.), KUB is committed to discussing natural gas pipeline safety for employees, customers, and contractors. P.I.P.E. works to bring public officials, emergency responders, and excavators together to ensure every person impacted by or working with underground pipelines, is educated on the safety standards in place.
The seminar, intended specifically for public officials, emergency responders, and excavators, will be held Monday, June 20, at the Bearden Banquet Hall located at 5806 Kingston Pike in Knoxville. This seminar will discuss pipeline and distribution safety in Anderson, Knox, Campbell, Grainger, Union and Roane Counties. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m., with dinner and presentation to follow.
Prior to dinner, KUB, along with the seven other sponsoring organizations will have informational displays and representatives available to answer questions.
KUB encourages all public officials, emergency responders, and excavators to attend this free event. Awareness and safety are important when working with underground pipelines, and this seminar will provide you with the information needed to best serve, protect, and educate yourself and others.
