Due to utility maintenance, KUB will have the following lane closures on Clinch Ave., Union Ave., and Walnut St.

Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project – Clinch Avenue Road Closures UPDATED [January 25 – February 8] – As progress continues west on Clinch Avenue, the following traffic control measures remain in place: 

• EXTENDED -Clinch Avenue between Market Street and Locust Street -  remains closed until 6 p.m. Friday, January 29 

• Clinch Avenue between Locust Street and Henley Street – remains closed until 6 p.m. Friday, February 8 

Some work will occur in the Clinch Avenue/Walnut Street and Clinch Avenue/Locust Street intersections, but traffic flow will be maintained around the wok zone. Should construction conditions warrant the closure of the intersections, a follow-up advisory will be issued. Alternate routes include S. Gay Street, Cumberland Avenue, Walnut Street, and Union Avenue. Follow up advisories will be issued as necessary. Please see attached map for more detailed traffic information. KUB and its contractor will make every effort to reopen at least one lane of traffic in construction zones on weekends and holidays, construction conditions and safety permitting. 

Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project – Union Avenue Road Closure [Extended January 25-29] – Due to weather, the road closure of Union Avenue between Walnut Street and Market Street will be extended from 6 a.m. Monday, January 25, until 6 p.m., Friday, January 29, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project. Valet parking will remain open for The Oliver Hotel. Alternate routes include Wall Avenue, Locust Street, W. Church Avenue, Walnut Street, and S. Gay Street. Follow up advisories will be issued as necessary. Please see attached map for more detailed traffic information. KUB and its contractor will make every effort to reopen at least one lane of traffic in construction zones on weekends and holidays, construction conditions and safety permitting.   

Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project – Walnut Street Lane Closure [January 25 – February 19] – KUB and its contractor will implement a closure of the northbound lane of Walnut Street between Clinch Avenue and W. Church Avenue from 6 a.m., Monday, January 25, until 6 p.m., Friday, February 19, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade project. One lane of northbound traffic will be maintained. The following closure also remains in place:  
 
• Walnut Street between Cumberland Avenue and Main Street – lane closure through January 29. One lane of northbound traffic remains open. 

KUB and its contractor will make every effort to reopen at least one lane of traffic in construction zones on weekends and holidays, construction conditions and safety permitting.   

Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution and expect temporary delays in these areas.
