Knox County Public Library is pleased to announce a new series of computer workshops based on Microsoft’s Windows 10 operating system.
The new workshops, which will be held in addition to the ongoing workshops based on Windows 7OS, will be taught using Windows 10 tablet/laptop hybrids with touchscreen, hardware keyboard with touchpad, and mouse/stylus inputs. All classes are free and open to the public. A schedule and description of workshops is listed below. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 865-215-8723.
Microsoft introduced the Windows 10 operating system in July 2015. It was designed to be more customizable to user preference and more adaptable to a variety of devices including tablets and smartphones. User experience on Windows 10 varies significantly from Windows 7. People who are upgrading to Windows 10 may benefit from these workshops. “Introducing the Computer” is appropriate for any person who is new to computers.
These workshops will be held on a new mobile computer lab that makes it possible to offer educational programs in more locations throughout the Library system and in the community. The mobile computer lab was made possible through a grant contract with the State of Tennessee and supported in part by the US Institute of Museum of Library Service.
