Special Events Community Monthly Meeting Guides Organizers through Event Planning Process

Posted: 03/16/2016
Planning a big event downtown? Need a street closure? Plan to attend the next Special Events Community Meeting that will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum Ballroom, 500 Howard Baker Jr. Ave.

Meetings are held the fourth Thursday of each month with the exception of November and December.

“Our goal is to make certain that anyone planning an event in the city has an organized, safe and successful event,” said Special Events Director Judith Foltz.

The City’s Special Events team as well as representatives from various City departments are available at this meeting to guide event organizers through the process of applying for permits, verifying insurance requirements, and ensuring that everyone is aware of event, parade, race and walk regulations.
