Knoxville may be experiencing 90-degree weather, but the City’s Office of Special Events is thinking about Christmas lights and candy canes.
In fact, the Office of Special Events is excited to be planning Christmas in the City 2016, which takes place during the months of November and December and includes dozens of different events produced by a variety of local organizations. Some examples of holiday events include the Fantasy of Trees at the Knoxville Convention Center and the Nativity Pageant at the Knoxville Coliseum.
The Office of Special Events invites organizations to have their holiday happenings listed in the Christmas in the City event line-up, which is posted on the City’s website as well as on the City of Knoxville Events App.
“We want to know about any holiday-related events that your organization is planning during the last two months of the year. With this information, we can help publicize your event to Knoxville,” says City Special Events Director Judith Foltz.
Organizations interested in having an event published on the City website or included on the City’s Special Events App must complete a form and return it to the
Office of Special Events by Sept. 30, 2016.
“By sharing the City’s website and App, we hope to make both Christmas in the City and community holiday celebrations a citywide success,” Foltz says.
