On Monday, Oct. 17 at 4 p.m. at Talahi Park (1034 Cherokee Blvd.), State Rep. Eddie Smith will present a $30,000 grant from the state of Tennessee to the Kingston Pike/Sequoyah Hills Association for the preservation of the historic Sunhouse Fountain on Cherokee Boulevard at the entrance to Talahi Park.
The neighborhood association plans to launch a fundraising campaign to match the state grant, allowing the complete restoration of the 1928 fountain.
