What's New at the Tennessee Valley Fair for 2016

TN Valley Fair 2016The Tennessee Valley Fair is set to debut a variety of new and noteworthy attractions for East Tennesseans to enjoy, September 9-18.

2016 Concert Lineup
September 9-18 – Homer Hamilton Theatre Diverse lineup including: Styx, Gary Allan, Lauren Daigle, Emily Ann Roberts and more. Full lineup.

Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League Championship Tractor Pull
Friday, September 9 and Saturday, September 10 at 7:00 p.m. – Action Sports Arena First time in Knoxville. Championship sporting event features: Pro Modified Tractors, Mini Rods, Lightweight Super Stock Tractors. Proudly presented by Lucas Oil Pro Pulling, Jim Cogdill Dodge Ram & Tyler Brothers.

Rent-A-Car Demolition Derby
September 12, 13 & 14 at 7:00 p.m. – Action Sports Arena East Tennesseans are invited participate in this year’s Demolition Derby. Cost - $150 per person. Participants must bring their own protective gear including helmet, gloves and goggles. Space is limited. Call CJ at 865-455-7419 to sign-up.

Battle at Bristol Tailgate Party
Saturday, September 10 at 7:30 p.m. – Homer Hamilton Theatre Watch the big game on our big screen at Homer Hamilton Theatre, free with fair admission. Seating is available on a first come, first serve basis. Concessions available. Groups are welcome.

Nash Next Talent Competition
Saturday, September 17 at 5:00 p.m. – Homer Hamilton Theatre Watch as East Tennessee’s regional Nash Next finalists compete for a chance to advance to the national competition. Nash Next is a national search competition aimed at discovering talented country newcomers. The national winner will receive a record deal with Big Machine label group.

#KnoxRocks Photography Competition and Exhibit
September 9-18 – Jacob Building In celebration of the City of Knoxville’s 225th birthday, this competition will feature stunning images of the city. Exhibit will be available for viewing in the Jacob Building.

Fair Food Fest
Wednesday, September 14 – 3:00-11:00 p.m. Love fair food? Enjoy discounted fair food in smaller portions from select food vendors from 3:00-11:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to try all the wackiest new fair foods. Bring a friend and come hungry.

Flag Retirement Ceremony
Saturday, September 10 noon – Sunday, September 11 noon To honor those who died on September 11, 2001, the Great Smoky Mountain Boy Scouts Council will hold a flag retirement ceremony for 24 hours between noon on Saturday, September 10 and noon on Sunday, September 11. Boy Scout troops from across East Tennessee will participate in shifts. Ceremony will be held at Patriot Circle.

Government Business Luncheon – Mural Unveiling
Friday, September 9 at 1:15 p.m. – Chilhowee Park / Kiddie Land / Magnolia Tunnel The City of Knoxville will unveil a new mural by middle Tennessee artist Brandon Donahue. Artwork showcases the diverse history of Chilhowee Park. Ceremony will begin at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Friday, September 9, following the Tennessee Valley Fair’s Government Business Luncheon.

Hometown Heroes Day Pinning Ceremony
Sunday, September 18 at 7:45 p.m. – Homer Hamilton Theatre The Tennessee Valley Fair and National Guard is proud to recognize local Vietnam veterans during a celebratory pinning ceremony on Sunday, September 18. Pinning ceremony will take place before Diamond Rio’s concert in conjunction with Hometown Heroes Day. A portion of each ticket sold benefits HonorAir Knoxville.

Truck Show & Shine
Sunday, September 11 – 8:00 a.m. – Noon – Action Sports Arena Truck enthusiasts, enter your ride in one of the following categories: Off-Road, Custom, Pre-1950s and Rat Rod. To sign up, call 865-215-1476 by September 10.

10 Days of Giveaways
September 9-18 – Jacob Building Fairgoers are invited to register to win great prize packages including: a free vacation from Bluegreen, free groceries from Food City, $100 in free tickets from the Tennessee Lottery, a Styx VIP Package and much more. A new giveaway will be featured daily, September 9-18.
