311 Service Center to Hold Open House Jan. 11

Posted: 01/09/2017
311 logoThe public is invited to the official grand opening of the City of Knoxville’s new 311 Service Center on the third floor of the City County Building on Wednesday, Jan. 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Mayor Rogero will speak at 11 a.m.

In the summer of 2016, 311 operations, now known as the 311 Center for Service Innovation, moved into a remodeled space on the third floor that serves as an information hub for callers as well as visitors to the City’s offices.

Approximately 1,000 callers a day dial 311 for information regarding garbage, recycling and leaf pick-up, street light outages, parking tickets, potholes, road conditions and other non-emergency issues.

311 operators also field calls to East Tennessee’s 211 line dedicated to referring residents to social services. 211 is a partnership with CAC's Office on Aging and the United Ways of East Tennessee.

Recently, 311 provided assistance to Sevier County residents and the State of Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to coordinate efforts for timely services and support.

Anyone who needs a disability accommodation should contact the City’s ADA Coordinator, Stephanie Cook, at [email protected], or 865-215-2034. For an English interpreter, contact the City Law Department at 865-215-2050.
