Keep Knoxville Beautiful (KKB) and Knoxville Area Transit (KAT) will be hosting the community-wide Bus Stop Trash Hop on Saturday, September 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Volunteers will ride a reserved KAT bus along the Magnolia Street bus route, stopping along the way to clean the area around each stop. Volunteers will meet at the Chilhowee Baptist Church at 4615 Asheville Hwy and are asked to park at the front of the parking lot.
East Knoxville is KKB’s Community of the Year until June 2018. “With our 12-month focus on East Knoxville, doing a cleanup of its biggest thoroughfare, East Magnolia Avenue, just made a lot of sense,” said KKB Executive Director Patience Melnik. “We’re thrilled that KAT reached out to us with this great idea. Thanks to the dedicated bus, volunteers will be able to cover a lot of ground and make a big difference.”
The Bus Stop Trash Hop is free and open to anyone wanting to make East Knoxville cleaner, greener, and more beautiful. Volunteers must register at

All supplies will be provided but volunteers are encouraged to wear closed toe shoes and comfortable clothes.
