City of Knoxville offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018 and Friday, Nov. 23, 2018 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

KAT BUSES & TROLLEYS

Knoxville Area Transit buses and trolleys will not run on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018 and will operate on Saturday schedules on Friday, Nov. 23, 2018.

GARBAGE & RECYCLING

Thanksgiving and Christmas are the two holidays on which the City’s contractor, Waste Connections, does not run regular household garbage and recycling collection routes.

Trash and recyclables will be collected a day later than usual. For residences with regular pickups on Thursdays, Waste Connections will collect at those residences on Friday, Nov. 23, 2018. Waste Connections’ regular Friday routes will be run on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018. Homeowners will still need to have their carts at the curb by 7 a.m. on the day of collection.

City recycling drop-off centers will remain open, but the Goodwill Industries attendant will not be available to assist with household donations on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018.

The City’s Solid Waste Management Facility, 1033 Elm St., will be closed beginning on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018 and will resume regular hours of operation on Monday, Nov. 26, 2018.

RECREATION FACILITIES

On Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018 the City’s recreation centers and the Knoxville Arts and Fine Crafts Center (1127 N Broadway) will be closed for staff training. Elmer Brine Pool and South Knoxville Community Center (both located at 522 Maryville Pike) will be closed on the same day for maintenance.

All City recreation facilities will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018 and Friday, Nov. 23, 2018.

CITY COURT

City court will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, 23, 2018. The office will re-open for regular business hours on Monday, Nov. 26, 2018.
