City of Knoxville offices will be closed Wednesday, July 4, 2018 for the Independence Day Holiday.
City recreation centers and indoor pools will also be closed on July 4. These recreation centers will be closed additional days:
• Deane Hill Recreation and Larry Cox Senior centers – Closed Thursday and Friday
• Lonsdale Recreation Center – Closed Thursday
• West Haven and Cumberland Estates recreation centers – closed all week
City’s outdoor pools at Ed Cothren Pool (1737 Reynolds Road) and Inskip Pool (4204 Bruhin Road) will be open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4, 2018.
KAT buses and trolleys will not run Wednesday, and the customer service counter at the Knoxville Station will be closed. Normal service will resume Thursday, July 5.
Waste Connections WILL run residential garbage and recycling routes on Wednesday, July 4, 2018.
Downtown trash and recycling will run on its regular schedule throughout the holiday.
The City's recycling centers will be open for recycling use; the Goodwill attendant will not be available for household goods donations on Wednesday, July 4, 2018.
The City's Solid Waste Management Facility located at 1033 Elm Street will be closed on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. Free for City Residents Saturday at the Solid Waste Management Facility will be held as normal on the first Saturday of the month - Saturday, July 7, 2018.
