KUB Lane Closures Through Mar. 27, 2018

Due to utility work, KUB will have lane closures at S. Northshore Dr., Kingston Pike, Central Ave. Pike Rd., Granda Dr., Henry Haynes Rd., and Ferd Hickey Rd.

(West Knoxville) S. Northshore Drive Lane Closure [March 17-18] – KUB crews will close a short section of the curbside, southbound lane of S. Northshore Drive between Wilda Place and Baum Drive from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m., on Saturday, March 17, and Sunday, March 18, as work is performed on the wastewater collection system in the area. One southbound lane and both northbound lanes will remain open during this time. Access to local driveways will be maintained, and flaggers and signs will be on site to assist with traffic control. Monday, March 19, through Wednesday, March 21, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., will be used as rain dates if necessary. 

(West Knoxville) Kingston Pike Lane Closure [March 19] – KUB crews will close a short section of the curbside, westbound lane of Kingston Pike between Cherokee Boulevard and E. Hillvale Turn from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Monday, March 19, as work is performed on the electric distribution system in the area. One westbound lane and both eastbound lanes will remain open during this time. Access to local driveways will be maintained, and flaggers and signs will be on site to assist with traffic control. 

(North Knoxville) Central Avenue Pike Road Closure [Extended Overnight, March 18-19] – KUB contract crews will implement a road closure of a short section of Central Avenue Pike between E. Inskip Drive and Dalton Place Way from 6 p.m., Sunday, March 18, through 6 a.m., Monday, March 19, as work is performed on the wastewater collection system in the area. Alternate routes include Coster Road, E. Inskip Drive, Tillery Road, Schubert Road, and W. Inskip Drive. Appropriate signage and flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control. Follow-up advisories will be issued as necessary. 

(West Knoxville) Granda Drive Intermittent Road Closures [Extended, March 19 & 20] – KUB contract crews will implement an intermittent road closure of Granda Drive between Glade Hill Drive and Ferd Hickey Road from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily, starting Monday, March 12, through Thursday, March 15, as work is performed on the wastewater collection system in the area. Alternate routes include Ferd Hickey Road, Glade Hill Drive, and Piney Grove Church Road. Appropriate signage and flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control, and local traffic access will be maintained. Follow-up advisories will be issued as necessary. 

(South Knoxville) Road Closure – Henry Haynes Road [March 20-23] – KUB contract crews will implement a closure of a short section of Henry Haynes Road between Chapman Highway and Babs Road from 7 a.m., Tuesday, March 20, through 5 p.m., Friday, March 23, as work is performed on the natural gas distribution system in the area. Alternate routes include W. Marine Road, Babs Road, and Tipton Station Road, and local traffic access will be maintained. Appropriate signage and flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control. Follow-up advisories will be issued as necessary. 
  
(West Knoxville) Ferd Hickey Road Intermittent Road Closures [March 20-27] – KUB contract crews will implement an intermittent road closure of Ferd Hickey Road between Piney Grove Church Road and Pinebrook Drive from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily, starting Tuesday, March 20, through Tuesday, March 27, as work is performed on the wastewater collection system in the area. Alternate routes include Ferd Hickey Road, Piney Grove Church Road, Glade Hill Drive, and Granda Drive. Appropriate signage and flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control, and local traffic access will be maintained. Work will not occur on weekends, follow-up advisories will be issued as necessary. 

Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution and expect temporary delays in these areas.
