(Downtown Knoxville) Cumberland Avenue Road Closure [Overnight, November 9-10] – KUB crews will close a short section of Cumberland Avenue between S. Gay Street and Walnut Street overnight from 6 p.m., Friday, November 9, through noon, Saturday, November 10, as work is performed on the electric distribution system in the area. Alternate routes include S. Gay Street, W. Church Avenue, W. Hill Avenue, and Walnut Street. Flaggers and signs will be on site to assist with traffic control, and access to area businesses will be maintained.
Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution and expect temporary delays in these areas.
