(North Knoxville) Sharps Ridge Memorial Park Drive Lane Closure [September 5-12] – KUB contract crews will reduce a short section of Sharps Ridge Memorial Park Drive near Ludlow Avenue to one alternating lane of traffic daily from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., starting Wednesday, September 5, through Wednesday, September 12, as work is performed on the electric distribution system in the area. The impacted lane will reopen after hours and on weekends. Appropriate flaggers and signage will be on site to assist with traffic control.
(South Knoxville) Chapman Highway Lane Closures [Overnight ,September 5-6] – KUB crews will close both the north and south bound curbside lanes to Chapman Highway between E Hendrons Chapel and Henry Haynes Road from 10:30 p.m., on Wednesday, September 5, through 6 a.m., on Thursday September 6, as work is performed on the electric distribution system in the area. The southbound curbside lane will be closed from Tipton Station to Henry Haynes and the north bound curbside lane closed from Kimberlin Heights to E. Hendrons Chapel. The inside lanes and center turn lane will remain open during this time. Flaggers and signs will be on site to assist with traffic control. Follow-up advisories will be issued as necessary.
(Downtown Knoxville) West Church Avenue Lane Closure [Overnight, September 6] – KUB crews will close a short section of the eastbound lane of the W. Church Avenue between S. Gay Street and State Street overnight starting at 9 p.m. to midnight, Thursday, September 6, as work is performed on the electric distribution system in the in the area. The westbound lane will remain open and be used to alternate traffic through the work zone. Flaggers and signs will be on site to assist with traffic control.
Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution and expect temporary delays in these areas.
