Bird on the Wire Studios will be joined by Mayor Madeline Rogero, along with representatives of the City’s Community Development and Redevelopment departments, community leaders and honored guests, to commemorate the completion of Bird on the Wire Studios' Façade Improvement Project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1300 McCalla Avenue. The dedication will take place at 3 p.m. Friday, October 26.
Derek White, owner of Bird on the Wire Studios, purchased the property in September of 2017 and funded 50 percent of the project along with a $50,000 grant received from The City of Knoxville's Façade Improvement Program. The City's Façade Improvement Program Grant is an incentive program to improve the economic viability of priority redevelopment areas, such as the Magnolia Warehouse District, by enhancing the appearance of building façades. Work began at Bird on the Wire Studios in June of 2018 and cost approximately $100,000 to complete.
Bird on the Wire Studios is a creative manufacturing facility located in Knoxville's Magnolia Warehouse District whose projects range from residential interior redesign to retail design and build-out, to the design and manufacturing of large-scale corporate sculpture, signage, lighting and merchandising elements.
