Looking for a job or new opportunity? The City of Knoxville’s Save Our Sons initiative is partnering with Change Center’s Jobs Initiative, and Johnson Family Restaurants to host a Jobs To-Go information meeting and hiring event Sunday, May 27, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Overcoming Believers Church, 211 Harriet Tubman Street.
“A main focus for the Change Center is working with employers to connect inner-city youth and young adults to existing job opportunities,” said Change Center Executive Director Nicole Chandler. “A major part of changing your circumstance is finding and securing employment, so we’re excited that Kelly Johnson and Johnson Family Restaurants are partnering with us to offer employment for young people who are invested in themselves and their futures.”
Johnson Family Restaurants owns Bennett’s Pit Bar-B-Que, Alamo Steakhouse, Mama’s Farmhouse, Big Daddy’s Pizzeria & Arcade, and Mad Dog’s Creamery. They are currently seeking to fill vacant staff positions and will be hiring qualified applicants at Sunday’s meeting. Interested applicants should bring a photo ID, passport, driver’s license or government issued ID and a Social Security card or birth certificate.
The Change Center Jobs Initiative will provide free transportation to and from Pigeon Forge for employees hired to work in one of the Johnson Family Restaurants.
“Save Our Sons works to promote strong, safe, healthy communities through collaborations with community partners,” said Save Our Sons Outreach Manager Kevin Perry. “This collaboration is a perfect example of how good things happen when community and community partners are engaged in making a positive difference in the lives of Knoxville’s youth.”
