On Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 2 p.m., City officials will mark the official opening of the newly renovated Performance Lawn at the south end of World’s Fair Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Participants include Mayor Madeline Rogero, City Special Events Office, and representatives from the project team members: the Public Building Authority; McCarty Holsaple McCarty Architects, Inc.; Ross/Fowler; Fulghum, Macindoe, & Associates, Inc.; Vreeland Engineers; and Christman Co.
The $2.5 million project updated water and electric service, improved drainage, and added new sod, pervious paver hardscaping and an enlarged entry area and gates.
The Performance Lawn and the greenway that borders it have been closed to public use since January. The first event to use the lawn will be the City’s Festival on the Fourth on Thursday, July 4, 2019.
After Festival on the Fourth, the performance lawn will be closed to complete construction in between scheduled events.
