The City of Knoxville is now accepting applications from non-profit organizations interested in receiving Community Agency Grant (CAG) funding for Fiscal Year 2020-21, which begins July 1, 2020.
Through Community Agency Grants, the City provides funding for both capital and operating purposes to qualifying arts organizations and social service agencies* that operate within Knoxville city limits and have been in operation for at least five years.
“This grant process helps us gauge the needs of our non-profit community and estimate the amount of funding we request from the Mayor for consideration in her annual budget proposal,” said Special Projects Manager Jennifer Searle. “Our main goal with these funds is to maximize their positive impact on our community and meet the goals and mission of the City of Knoxville.”
In 2019, Mayor Rogero proposed and Council approved $1.9 million in funding for approximately 87 organizations in two funding categories: “Arts and Culture" or “Community and Social Services.” Both application forms are available at
www.knoxvilletn.gov/citygrants.
Arts and Culture organizations that received funding include museums, fine arts organizations, and groups that present and promote the performing arts and cultural experiences from a variety of heritages and backgrounds. Recipients of funding for Community and Social Services include organizations that support the physical and mental health of city residents.
Original signed applications must be received by Friday, Feb. 21, 2020, or hand delivered to the Mayor’s Office at Suite 691 in the City County Building (400 Main St.) by 4 p.m. on the same date. Late applications will not be considered. If hand delivering, please allow time for parking and security screening when entering the building.
