In these uncertain and stressful times, we can still find moments to celebrate. Not only is our
Fleet Services Department a critical part of keeping our City running right now, it has been named one of the
100 Best Fleets in the Americas!
Above, Nick Bradshaw, Deputy Director of Fleet Services, and Keith Shields, Director of Fleet Services, look at a 2020 model electric vehicle on display at the Knox News Auto Show in February 2020.
Fleet maintains more than 1,500 pieces of equipment for numerous City departments, including Knoxville Police, Knoxville Fire, and Public Works. In 2019, Fleet received the Green Leadership Award from the Propane Education and Research Council (PERC). And in 2018, they established the
Apprentice Mechanic program for disadvantaged students, which provides added capacity to Fleet at no cost to the City while benefitting the community and helping Fleet to overcome longstanding recruiting challenges. To date, three students have been hired by the City after completing the program.
We’re proud of Fleet’s accomplishments and the work they do for City staff and the people of Knoxville. Congratulations!
