At a ceremony being held Wednesday, Sept. 16, 8:30 a.m., Mayor Kincannon will recognize small, women-owned and minority-owned businesses (called
Diversity Business Enterprises, or DBEs) that contracted with the City of Knoxville in the past year. The annual awards are designed to honor DBEs whose work advances the City’s core goals:
• Public safety
• Healthy and connected neighborhoods
• A clean and resilient future
• Thriving businesses and jobs
City departments that have achieved outstanding results in awarding a large number of contracts to DBEs will also be recognized.
Due to COVID-19, attendance at the ceremony is limited; recipients will be named in a media release distributed to news outlets after the ceremony and posted on the City’s website at
KnoxvilleTN.gov/news.
