The sounds of the season will ring out from Knoxville’s Bijou Theatre, Sunday, December 5th, 2021 as the Knoxville Community Band presents its annual holiday concert. The 3:00 p.m. performance is free.
The concert will kick off with composer John Cacavas’ “Christmas Music for Winds” followed by seven other selections will fill you with holiday cheer. The roster includes “Christmas Favorites”, “An American Christmas”, “Jingle Bells Forever”, “An English Christmas”, “Sparking Lights” (a fanfare on “O Christmas Tree”), “Auld Lang Syne”, and “A Most Wonderful Christmas”.
The Knoxville Community Band is sponsored by the Knoxville Parks & Recreation Department. It gives adult musicians the opportunity to perform in various concerts including a summer series and other festivals and City events throughout the year. The band’s next performance will be in spring 2022 in Knoxville.
The Knoxville Community Band is directed by Larry Hicks, a retired band director of Heritage High School in Maryville.
