City of Knoxville offices will be closed Friday, Dec. 23 and Monday, Dec. 26, 2022, and Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, for the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays.
Closures include the 311/211 Center for Service Innovation, which connects callers to City and social services. To make a report to 311, use
the My Knoxville app for iPhone and Android. A list of social services and community resources for food, housing, mental health assistance, etc., is available on the app and at
tn211.org. If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911.
Residents, be aware of these holiday-related changes:

Knoxville Area Transit buses and trolleys will run on a Sunday schedule on Saturday, Dec. 24, and not operate Sunday, Dec. 25. KAT will operate on a regular schedule on Saturday, Dec. 31, and not run Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023.

Because Christmas falls on Sunday, trash and recycling will be picked up on regular household service days. Waste Connections’ offices will be closed Monday, Dec. 26, 2022, and Monday, Jan. 2, 2023.

Between Monday, Dec. 26, 2022, and Friday, Jan. 6, 2023, Waste Connections drivers will pick up properly bagged, excess holiday household trash and broken-down cardboard placed next to full garbage carts.

Downtown trash and recycling, which are typically serviced on Sundays, will not be picked up on Sunday, Dec. 25.

The City's five recycling centers will be open, but the Goodwill attendant will only be available to accept household goods donations for a half-day on Saturday, Dec. 24. The center will be unstaffed but open for recycling drop-off on Sunday, Dec. 25, 2022, and Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023. Please don’t leave donations at unattended centers.

The city's Solid Waste Facility (1033 Elm Street) will be closed Friday, Dec. 23 through Monday, Dec. 26, with normal hours resuming on Tuesday, Dec. 27. For the New Year’s holiday, the facility will be closed on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022, and Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, with normal hours resuming Tuesday, Jan. 3.
