City of Knoxville offices will be closed on Friday, April 15, 2022, in recognition of Good Friday.
Waste Connections will run its normal residential garbage and recycling routes on Friday. (Remember that Thanksgiving and Christmas are the only days when residential curbside trash and recycling are not picked up as scheduled.)
Downtown trash and recyclables will be collected as usual on Friday and over the weekend.
The holiday does not affect Knoxville Area Transit, which will operate a regular service over Easter weekend. Riders should be aware that some routes -- listed
here -- are operating at reduced service.
The City's five recycling drop-off centers will be open April 15, but the Goodwill attendant will only be available to receive donations of household goods until 1 p.m. Please don’t leave donations at unattended donation centers.
The City's Solid Waste Facility, located at 1033 Elm St., will be closed Friday, April 15, and Saturday, April 16.
Friday’s closure includes the 311 Center for Service Innovation, which operates the 311 and 211 phone numbers. Residents who need to report issues to 311 or access 211 services are encouraged to
download the My Knoxville app for Apple and Android devices to report potholes in local roads, graffiti, overgrown lots, and other neighborhood issues.
Residents may also submit requests at

[email protected] or go to
