A few downtown roads will be temporarily closed this weekend to accommodate special holiday events on City streets.

The second of three Nourish Knoxville
Winter Farmers’ Markets in December will close some roads around Market Square on Saturday, Dec. 10. Market hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The following roads will be closed from 7:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.:
- Market Street between Union and Clinch avenues
- Union Avenue between Walnut and Gay streets

The annual
Tour de Lights bicycle ride rolls again on Saturday evening, beginning at Suttree Landing, winding through Island Home neighborhood, down Sevier Avenue, crossing the Gay Street Bridge and continuing down Wall Avenue onto Market Square. Cookies, cocoa and photo opps await riders on the square, as does the Holidays on Ice open-air skating rink.
Waterfront Drive along the South Knoxville Waterfront will be closed and parking will be unavailable from approximately 3-6:30 p.m. And roads along the route will be closed from approximately 5:15 - 6 p.m. as parade participants progress from Suttree Landing Park to Market Square.

With only 14 shopping days until Christmas, the
Old City Market will host a variety of vendors selling locally made wares on the 100 block of W. Jackson Avenue on Sunday, Dec. 11. W. Jackson Avenue between State Street and North Central streets will be closed 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Market hours are 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
