Get ready to celebrate Independence Day the Knoxville way at Festival on the 4th, Tuesday, July 4, at Knoxville’s iconic World's Fair Park.
This free, family-friendly celebration is the largest event produced by the City’s Office of Special Events, presenting live music, free activities, food vendors and a big finish: the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra’s 39th Annual Free Pilot Company Independence Day Concert and a fireworks display.
This year’s event sponsors are Pilot, Visit Knoxville, Regal, Home Federal Bank, WBIR Channel 10, STAR 102.1, Hot 104.5, 100.3 The Wolf and Awesome 93.1.
The fun gets underway on the Festival Lawn at 5 p.m. Activities include water wars (like cornhole but with water balloons), axe-throwing, caricature artists, mini-golf games, and paddle boats on the World’s Fair Park lake. Mikki Norwood Band performs on the Festival Lawn stage from 5 to 7:45 p.m.
A variety of food vendors will be located on both lawns.
The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will perform a variety of patriotic tunes beginning at 8 p.m. on the Performance Lawn. Fireworks will be launched from the Henley Bridge at approximately 9:45 p.m.
The event will be held rain or shine, so guests should come prepared.
No alcohol or personal tents/canopies will be permitted on the fair site. Please leave pets at home for their own safety and comfort. Bring your own water bottles to fill at the water station located next to the Performance Lawn entrance or the Knoxville Utilities Board’s water station on the Festival Lawn.
Free parking is available in the World's Fair and Blackstock parking lots and the following garages: 11th Street (includes ADA parking), Locust Street, Walnut Street, State Street and Market Square.
