The City of Knoxville Housing and Neighborhood Development (HND) department invites residents to celebrate and learn more about its efforts to advance housing affordability during National Community Development Week, April 10 - 14, 2023.
“The City has a lot to celebrate,” says HND Director Kevin DuBose, who took the helm of the department in February 2023. “The demand is high for affordable housing in our community, and we are working on a number of fronts to support the efforts of community partners and affordable housing developers.”

East Knoxville Community Open House
Tuesday, April 11, 5-7 p.m.
Jacob Building at Chilhowee Park
Multiple HND departments will be present at this community open house and provide information about affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization.
Affordable Housing Rehab Open Houses
Wednesday, April 12, 12-4 p.m.
506 S. Beaman Street and 1613 Crestview Street
Tour homes rehabilitated by East Tennessee Housing Development Corporation using federal H.O.M.E. funds, now for sale to qualifying low-income buyers.
The Ammons Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Friday, April 14, 3 p.m.
4265 Asheville Highway
Partners Development, Carl Lansden and other officials will gather to cut the ribbon on 80 new affordable apartments. The City supported the project with a $2 million loan from its Affordable Rental Development Fund.
