Lights on Henley Bridge

Henley Bridge Lights - orange and white The City of Knoxville’s Communications Department manages the schedule for the decorative lighting on the Henley Bridge street-level top deck.

The white lighting and navigational lighting on the bridge's undercarriage do not change.

Priority in choosing colors for the top deck’s lights will be given to promoting events that celebrate the City, its civic institutions, City-recognized holidays, public events and festivals. Requests to change the color or pattern of the bridge’s decorative lights will be accommodated as dates are available. The City retains the right to refuse requests.

If multiple requests are made for different colors on the same dates, preference will be given to events that are locally organized and that affect the largest number of Knoxville residents.

Requests from commercial entities seeking to promote a product or service will not be approved. Other types of requests that will not be eligible for consideration include recognition of an individual’s birthday or recognition of marriage anniversaries or weddings.

Anniversaries of public events with Knoxville connections or anniversaries of local landmarks and institutions may be considered. However, those requests may be limited to 1-year commemorations or milestone anniversary years, such as 10th, 25th, 50th or 100th anniversaries.

Local individuals and groups may request that the decorative bridge deck lights be illuminated in a specific color to recognize or commemorate a local event.

Please contact Deputy Communications Director Eric Vreeland at [email protected] with requests for commemorative lightings. Advance notice of 14 days or more is required.
