
Saturday Morning at 5:52 AM, the Knox County Emergency Communications District received a call about a reported house fire in the 3300 block of Keith Ave. The caller reported flames coming from the windows of the home and a person lying in the front yard.
On the arrival of the first KFD unit, the officer reported heavy fire coming from the front of the home. KFD crews quickly gained access to the home and extinguished the fire.
The home has suffered heavy fire damage and is a total loss.
No Injuries were reported.
The home was occupied by two adult males and one adult female.
The fire has been determined to have been started by a space heater.

Keep Heaters at least 3 feet away from flammable materials.

Never leave space heaters unattended.
•
Plug heaters directly into an outlet and do not use extension cords.
The home did not have any working smoke alarms.
All residents of single-family homes in the city of Knoxville can contact 311 to request a free smoke alarm installed in their homes. Smoke alarms save lives!
The occupants initially American Red Cross Assistance. However, they now being assisted.
